Arthur Hardman of Jefferson was chosen to carry the banner at the lead of the Iowa State Fair veterans’ parade Aug. 16.
Hardman was nominated by MeLinda Madison, who wanted to recognize him and his wife Janet for the help they’ve given her as her medical power of attorney.
The Hardmans and Madison received free admission to the fair that day, along with free parking, passes for the Sky Glider and Ye Old Mill, and State Fair chocolate chip cookies. “We all had an awesome and amazing and wonderful time that day,” Madison said.
